Small Mercies
“We believe that every day, small mercies change the life of each animal we rescue and the life of the community as a whole.”
Small Mercies is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that rescues and finds homes for animals in dire need. Small Mercies lend aid, medical care, and foster homes to those subject to extreme risk, neglect, and injury. All animals at Small Mercies are up to date on age-appropriate shots and spayed/neutered before adoption.
Focusing on rehabilitation and loving care, Small Mercies work with under-resourced communities and shelters to foster animals otherwise discarded. In particular, the organization networks between Oktibbeha County and surrounding areas in Mississippi to help volunteers in the Delta, reaching places where facilities are non-existent or are miserable, dangerous holding tanks—there are no “shelters.” Animals are regularly found left to die of starvation, dehydration or are the victims of direct torture.
Small Mercies also specializes in behavioral rehabilitation to overcome stress, neglect and trauma, and help animals find their permanent, loving homes. The foster based start-up rescue network is committed to all of its animals until each animal reaches the fullest possible health and happiness. Small Mercies then works tirelessly to help every animal find his or her forever homes.
